NASA’s 3D-Printed Habitat Challenge

- I was involved in all aspects of the competition including serving as a member in the team responsible for the development of the competition rules for the five components (2 Virtual Construction levels at (LODs of 60% and 100%) + 3 physical construction levels (3D printing of a foundation system, hydrostatic testing of a 3D printed wall supported by a foundation, and 3D printing of a subscale habitat at 1/3 scale) of Phase 3 of the competition developed by distinguished engineers from NASA, Caterpillar, Bechtel, Brick and Mortar Ventures.)
- Participated in the development of the “Frequently Asked Questions” documents posted by the rules team committee to answer the competitor’s questions.
- Participated in the Informational Webinar (as the Bradley Representative) on Phase 3 of the competition (bradley.edu), April 4th, 2018.
- Participated in the recruitment and advertisement of the competition by attending several conferences/workshops.
- Presented “Session 1: Allied Organization and Sponsors Insights and Lessons Learned” at the 3D -Printed Habitat Challenge workshop held at Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Florida, May 12-14, 2018.
