BIOGRAPHY
Since earning a B.S. in Sociology from Florida A&M University and later his M.S. degree in Leadership and Human Service Administration from Bradley University, Dr. Daniel McCloud has worked in various leadership positions, including stints at the Central Illinois Agency on Aging and EP!C. However, in 2008 he shifted his career focus toward higher education and began the doctorate program at Illinois State University.

After successfully defending his dissertation titled “Racial Stereotype Threat: A Critical Discourse Analysis,” he graduated in 2016 with a Ph.D. in Higher Education. McCloud’s research interests include social justice and those issues that pertain to African Americans and higher education. In addition to currently serving as the online program director at Bradley University, McCloud has taught graduate-level courses within the counseling program and higher education doctorate program within Bradley University's ECL department.

In addition, Dr. McCloud has received the Odessa Meyer Endowed Scholarship for Underrepresented Groups for his dissertation. He is also the recipient of the 2005 Bradley University Department of Educational Leadership and Human Development ELH Exemplary Alumni Award for Community Service. He has presented his research at the Mid-Western Educational Research Association.

Dr. McCloud is a regular contributor to the Community Word Newspaper, where his focus is on current events and social justice.
