Dr. Qin Yang joined the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems (CS&IS) at Bradley University as an assistant professor in fall 2023. Before joining Bradley University, he was a research scientist studying autonomous driving systems at Hitachi America Ltd. Prior to that, he worked as a senior electrical and automatic control engineer with over 12 years of experience in the intelligence systems field.

Courses at Bradley University

  • CS 140 – Advanced Programming Concepts and Languages
  • CS 490/491 – Capstone Project I & II
  • CIS 450 – Game Programming Design Patterns

Courses taught before joining Bradley

  • Introduction to Computer Science
  • Introduction to the Linux Operating System
  • Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
  • Introduction to Robotics
  • Introduction to CS-LAB
  • Discrete Mathematics
  • Database Management
  • Computer Simulation
  • Computer Graphics

Dr. Yang’s research focuses on multi-agent/robot systems (MAS/MRS), artificial intelligence, cognitive modeling, swarm robotics, and human-robot interaction (HRI). These works concern the computational issues of distributed intelligent systems having a physical or virtual instantiation, such as multi-robot systems, self-driving cars, wireless sensor networks, or software agents. It characterizes multiple entities that integrate perception, reasoning, decision-making, learning, and action to perform cooperative tasks under adversarial status and dynamical change scenarios during task execution.
